Colorado Electrical Licensure – Overview
Licensure for electricians in the State of Colorado is administered by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) through examination. Eligibility to test is based on verified work experience and documented classroom education, typically completed as part of a registered apprenticeship program.

Note: Individuals may not advance directly from Apprentice or Residential Wireman to Master Electrician using experience alone.
Individuals pursuing electrician licensure in Colorado are required to participate in a state or federally registered apprenticeship program to ensure proper credit of on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom education hours.
Registered apprenticeship programs must be approved by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) and/or the U.S. Department of Labor, with apprentice participation tracked through the RAPIDS system. Classroom education hours must be issued as Related Technical Instruction (RTI) by or through an approved apprenticeship sponsor and supported by official documentation.
Licensing eligibility, acceptance of hours, and examination approval are determined solely by DORA.

Wyoming Electrical Licensure – Overview
Electrical licensure in the State of Wyoming is administered through the Wyoming Electrical Board.
